Minbirwedfamstuf...

We've been back for almost a week, but we went to Minnesota for a week for Maggie and Nathan's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and probably the best wedding dance I had ever been to, and no there was not an open bar. Maggie is in the Army and Nathan is in the Marines so they had a red, white and blue theme... it was cool. Congrats Maggie and Nathan!!

But before the wedding, on April 16th, Asher turned 5!!! Abbey made him a fun chocolate cake with bugs on it. (Not real ones!) Turning 5 is a big deal in our family because that means that you are old enough to ride on the motorcycle with Daddy.
Asher unfortunately had to wait almost a week until we got back to Kansas for his first ride on the bike. Gord, you would have been proud... he's a natural. And Jakin was giving him tips on how to wave to fellow bikers.

Our time there is always too short, but we managed to spend some time with Justin's family which is always fun. All the MN family made it (except for Kelsey who is at school in Bemidji). And the boys LOVE playing and being with their big cousins!!

My Dad and brothers were all in Florida for most of our time in MN. Ironic that they all go to FL after we leave, huh?? They came back the day before we left, so we were able to spend a day with Dad but we weren't able to see my new neice Sophia. Mom gave us a scare... she was having some pressure and tightness in her chest and we brought her to the ER. They admitted her and ran some tests on her heart, thankfully everything checked out ok, but she was still feeling the pressure and the Docs weren't offering any answers, but sent her home. She figured out several days later that it was a medication she was taking... stopped taking it and the pressure was gone. Praise God!!

Oh, and I almost forgot to share one of the best things about the trip... all the time Justin and I got to spend without kids!! (Thanks Beanee, and Whitney, Ryley, Peri and Mark.) Not sure why Justin looks so repulsed by my kiss. One night we went out with our friends
(yes it's ok to say that now guys, we're not your Youth Pastor and wife anymore...) Peter, Jenni, Joe and Nicole for Jenni's 22nd birthday and we stayed up really late the night before the wedding! It was fun... thanks guys!

I'll close by sharing my favorite Asher picture using one of the birthday gifts he received from Auntie Jody and Uncle Greg in Pennsylvania.

It was so good seeing you guys! I wish we had gotten to see the boys, but, maybe next time when you are here! I am glad you guys had fun. We will see you again soon.

You all look like you enjoyed yourselves immensely on your trip. I think Justin had other things on his mind than that of repulsion, girl;)
Happy Birthday Asher....5 is HUGE!
